 Calling All  Wolf Angels

Protecting the wolves, all wildlife, the wild lands and habitats necessary for their survival is a priority for us through education. This is a particularly dangeroustime for wolves especially and their very survival depends on you and your continued commitment to helping us with our mission to "Educate not Eradicate."

Unfortunately policy depends on politics, invariably siding in favor of industry over conservation.

We are dedicated and open to working with both sides of the aisle to save these beautiful creatures, and we have made great progress, yet  we have had many setbacks with both Republican and Democrat administrations. That is why the ESA and EPA are such vital protections currently being  challenged by a particularly hostile House of Representatives allied with the new administration; together they could set back conservation efforts a generation.

The Trump administration's transition website says...

"Rather than continuing the current path to undermine and block America's fossil fuel producers, the Trump Administration will encourage the production of these resources by opening onshore and offshore leasing on federal lands and waters."

This means no place will be safe for the wolves and other species where they are currently protected. All of our National Forests and Parks will be at risk. The current House Appropriations Bill for the Department of the Interior for 2017 passed the house and is being held for a vote in the Senate until January, after the inauguration. It contains these riders:

House Interior and Environment Appropriation Bill

  • Delists gray wolves in the Great Lakes and Wyoming from the Endangered Species Act and prevent judicial review of this action.
  • Blocks efforts to protect endangered gray wolves in the continental United States by 2017.
  • Blocks federal funding for the endangered Mexican gray wolf under the Endangered Species Act."  This will most likely be the end of the recovery efforts of the last 30 years and perhaps end the lives of wolves in the US.

We truly believe that protecting wolves is nonpartisan- this Keystone species and their powers to heal our forests and water systems is a part of all of us and necessary for the very air we breathe.

Just as a wolf depends on his pack for survival, we depend on you, our supporters, to survive.
