Our Mission and Vision

Just imagine a special place...an environment where you can retreat and connect with the earth in its natural state surrounded by trees, flowers, running water, and wildlife; safely, serenely and peacefully.Imagine replenishing your spirits with the unlimited energy inherit in, around and through all of us, freely given by our universe. Imagine being transported to a different world, inhabited by a pack of wolves, our kindred species.

Imagine seeing your children in this environment, learning and experiencing life in a community ruled by the natural order of things.

Living as a community where the individual honors and respects the whole; their teachers... our wolf-hybrids, the Shadowland pack. Imagine them having the opportunity to witness teamwork at its primal best; learning patience, unity, communication, play, loyalty, and unconditional acceptance. This is the behavior of the wolf. Within the pack, devotion to each other is not an exception, but the rule.

What would happen in our personal, family and professional lives if everyone worked together towards a common goal like the wolf pack does? Can you imagine how instrumental this would be for a family, business or organization to have this retreat available?

We, at Shadowland Foundation, Inc., see it very clearly; a ranch called Freedom. Paul Pondella has been imagining it his entire life...and it is now a reality. We have procured 11 acres in Lake Hughes, CA with the National Forest as our backdrop. It is our ultimate vision to continue to develop this land, grow our educational programs, documentaries, film projects, and bring the whole dream to fruition. Your continued support helps us tremendously in our endeavor to save the environment and humanity, by saving this essential species, the wolf. We welcome and appreciate any and all contributions to this endeavor.

We expect Freedom Ranch to be a spiritual place for "Children of All Ages" to come and spend time with our wolf-hybrids within "nature's" classroom. It is our intention that through educational programs, spiritual retreats, corporate events, and camps, people will deepen their connection and understanding of wolves. We know that once people fall in love with these gentle, loving animals, as we have, they will want to do their part in helping to pass legislation to protect them forever, renew a commitment to be guardians of our wildlife, and live our lives with inclusive integrity.
